A First Glimpse of AVERNWAKE

Our opening cinematic concept explores love, absence and the resolve to keep going. A first glimpse of the vision, with a clear look at what comes next.

A vast ruined sanctuary opens around a distant shaft of golden light.

How far would you go for the one you love?

That question sits at the heart of AVERNWAKE. Elias Ward's journey begins with Helena, and with the life whose absence he cannot accept. Before the scale of the world or the danger of the descent, there has to be a reason to care.

What this film is

The 96-second opening concept and 30-second vertical teaser explore that emotional direction through quiet domestic images, enormous ruined spaces and music. We want the still moments to carry weight, so the impossible journey means something when it begins.

These are AI-assisted concept visuals and concept music, not gameplay or a finished in-engine cinematic. Some opening credits remain placeholders. The film expresses a direction we are working toward; it does not promise final graphics, production credits or a release date.

Three possible musical directions

We're also sharing three music concepts, each with a possible role in AVERNWAKE:

  • Iron Against the Ruin: potential boss-battle music.
  • Where the Light Remains: potential gameplay music.
  • Beneath the Stone Canopy: a potential thematic credits song.

Listen to all three directly on the site. These are ideas under consideration, not a finalized soundtrack or a promise that each piece will appear in the finished game.

The concept gallery also includes an early darkness and creature study. Its working title and designs are exploratory.

What we're building next

Work is continuing on the early playable Unity prototype, including movement, combat, environment textures and Elias's character model. The next step is to bring those pieces together and check the complete experience before inviting a small group of trusted testers.

Those first tests will look at how the whole experience feels: character, atmosphere, story, navigation, combat and technical stability. The art and animation will still be works in progress. There is no public beta date or signup yet.

AVERNWAKE remains a single-player game. Testing with several people means independent playthroughs, not co-op.
